"Perché fare il Cammino di Santiago con un viaggio organizzato? Sono partito per la Galizia con questa domanda e un pizzico di scetticismo, ma quello che ho trovato tra Sarria e Finisterre ha sventrato ogni mia certezza.

In "Verso Santiago", Mirko Malavolta firma un documentario d'osservazione che rifiuta la retorica del viaggio perfetto per abbracciare la verità dell'imprevisto. Il film segue il Cammino Inglese attraverso una narrazione a due binari: da un lato la sfida personale del regista, segnata da improvvisi problemi fisici e solitudini forzate; dall'altro il percorso di Giacomo, il co-protagonista, che decide di proseguire il cammino incarnando la determinazione del pellegrino.

Siamo tornati sulla Via Francigena, questa volta nel cuore della Val d'Orcia, uno dei territori più suggestivi della Toscana, con l'intento di percorrere a piedi 170 km in sette giorni. Ma una serie di eventi imprevisti, stravolge completamente i nostri piani portandoci a fare scelte inaspettate.
